Night photography is not about making everything bright. It is about deciding which light tells the story and keeping the phone steady enough to record it.
Try this
1. Clean the lens because fingerprints spread small lights into large smears.
2. Find a shop window, streetlight or sign that lights the subject from the side.
3. Brace the phone against a wall, railing or both hands.
4. Tap the important subject and lower exposure if signs lose their colour.
5. Let Night mode finish without moving when it appears.
What usually goes wrong
Do not use digital zoom at night. Avoid placing a person between the camera and a bright light unless you want a silhouette. Brightening shadows too much can remove the feeling of night.
